With the issuance of Decree-Law no. 159 of October 31, 2025—"Urgent measures for the protection of health and safety in the workplace and regarding civil protection"—converted into law by Law no. 198 of December 29, 2025 (published in the Official Gazette, General Series no. 301, on December 30, 2025), the legislature mandated, among other things, an amendment to Article 115 concerning fall protection systems.
The industry had long advocated for an update to Legislative Decree 81/08 in this area to reflect technological advancements.
The new version of Article 115 therefore represents a significant step forward for the country, placing it at the forefront of workplace health and safety protection.
