Emergencies and acute events caused by physical agents

OCCUPATIONAL HEALT AND SAFETY SEMINARY REFRESHER HOURS 81/08
WEDNESDAY 16 SEPTEMBER 2026
11:00 - 13:00

INAIL SEMINAR ROOM

PAV. A – LANE A1

Edited by: INAIL

The health and safety landscape under Legislative Decree 81/08 has historically focused on preventing chronic occupational diseases and monitoring time-weighted average exposure levels. However, the occurrence of acute accidents and emergency scenarios linked to physical agents represents a critical risk factor—one often underestimated in Risk Assessment Documents.
This seminar will outline specific accident scenarios resulting from exposure to physical agents covered under Title VIII of Legislative Decree 81/08 (e.g., optical radiation, electromagnetic fields, microclimate, hyperbaric atmospheres). Through an examination of real-world case studies, the aim is to equip RSPPs, HSE Managers, and consultants with the technical tools needed to develop effective, dedicated emergency plans, integrating initial response procedures with corporate safety protocols to eliminate the impact of "near misses" and acute incidents in the workplace.
