Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP)—the key reference for the classification, labelling, and packaging of chemical agents placed on the EU market—is periodically updated to align with technical and scientific progress.
Key updates include:
- the introduction of new hazard classes for human health and the environment, via Delegated Regulation (EU) No 2023/707;
- the adaptation of labels for substances and mixtures to meet consumer needs and keep pace with technological evolution, via Regulation (EU) No 2024/2865, which was subsequently amended by the "Stop-the-clock" mechanism introduced by Regulation (EU) No 2025/2439.
