THURSDAY 17 SEPTEMBER 2026

COURSE ROOM 10

PAV. B – LANE B4

The echoes of the recent tragedy in Crans-Montana have reignited the debate on safety in crowded places, particularly those open to the public. Images and eyewitness accounts remind us that, despite regulatory evolution, a combination of deficiencies can still transform a venue into a trap in a shockingly short amount of time during a fire.
While the investigation into the events in Switzerland takes its course, the science and conscience of safety compel us not to wait to understand what "can go wrong" during an emergency evacuation.
This course offers a "cool-headed" technical analysis, starting from the recurring dynamics observed in major disasters of the past, such as: The Station Nightclub (USA), the Kiss nightclub (Brazil), and Grenfell Tower (UK).
By reconstructing these extensively analyzed events, the course will provide participants with the insights needed to identify the systemic vulnerabilities that, unfortunately, continue to resurface in modern-day tragedies.

Valid as a 2-hour refresher course in accordance with Legislative Decree 81/08, in collaboration with the University of Roma Tre
Final test completion is mandatory for certification.

Speakers:
Emanuele Nicolini, Business consultant, expert instructor in fire safety, explosion risk assessment (ATEX), and emergency management.
