At Safety Expo Fire Prevention, each attendee can earn different types of training credits. In order to receive them, it is necessary to provide all the required information during the registration process.

Professional Training Credits (CFPs)
Attendance at the conferences and seminars during the Safety Expo Fire Prevention exhibition will be recognised for professional development credits in accordance with the Professional Development Regulations issued by the National Councils of:
- Engineers
- Architects, Planners, Landscapers and Conservationists
- Industrial Experts and University Graduate Industrial Experts
- Surveyors and graduate surveyors
- Agronomists and graduate agronomists
- - Agrotechnicians and Graduate Agrotechnicians
It is mandatory to track attendance in and out of the room.
Late or partial attendance will not be allowed.
Events granting CFPs are listed in the program.
Refresher hours pursuant to 818/84
The Fire Prevention seminars, each provide 3 hours valid as refresher seminars pursuant to 818/84 (note DCPREV 7213 of 25/5/2012).
An automated system will detect the participant’s presence upon entering and exiting the hall.
Late arrivals or partial participations are not permitted.
Events granting refresher hours 818/84 are listed in the program.
Refresher hours 81/08
Some of the events held at Safety Expo Fire Prevention are valid as refresher hours pursuant to Legislative Decree 81/08 as amended. RSPP (Prevention and Protection Service Managers), ASPP (Prevention and Protection Service Officers), Employers, Managers, Supervisors, Training Instructors and Coordinators for the design and execution of works.
These are training courses, with a maximum of 30 participants, subject to payment at the time of online booking.
The participant must sign in and out upon entering and exiting the hall.
Late arrivals or partial participations are not permitted.

How credits and refresher training hours work at the Safety Expo

The Safety Expo Fire Prevention sessions may provide different forms of training recognition: Continuing Professional Development Credits (CFPs), refresher training hours under 818/84 and refresher training hours pursuant to Legislative Decree 81/08. Not all events award the same credits: the type of recognition provided is indicated on the page for each individual event within the Safety Expo Fire Prevention program.

For this reason, before registering for or attending a session, it is important to check which credits are associated with the event and which requirements must be met in order to obtain them. Participation must be complete and, for sessions that provide for the recognition of credits, attendance must be recorded upon entering and leaving the room.

CFPs, refresher training under 818/84 and 81/08 refresher training: what are the differences?

CFPs are recognized for members of Professional Orders and Colleges in accordance with their respective continuing professional development regulations. At the Safety Expo they may be recognized, among others, for Engineers, Architects, Industrial Technicians, Surveyors, Agricultural Technicians and Agrotechnicians. Attendance must be verified according to the procedures indicated for each individual event.

Refresher training hours under 818/84, on the other hand, concern the training of fire prevention professionals registered on the lists of the Ministry of the Interior.

The Fire Prevention seminars that provide for this recognition are indicated in the program and, according to the procedures established for the event, allow participants to earn the corresponding refresher training hours.

The 81/08 refresher training hours are intended for professional roles for which refresher training is required pursuant to Legislative Decree 81/08, including RSPPs, ASPPs, employers, managers, supervisors, trainers and safety coordinators. At the Safety Expo, they are associated with the specific courses or sessions indicated in the program.

How to check which credits an event awards

The simplest way to check in advance which credits are recognized is to consult the event page in the official program. Events are identified according to the type of training and the credits provided, making it possible to distinguish, for example, sessions valid for CFPs from those valid for refresher training under 818/84 or 81/08.

Participation procedures may also vary depending on the activity: conferences and seminars may be free to attend subject to availability, while training courses may require a reservation and online purchase. It is therefore always advisable to check both the credits recognized and the access procedures on the event page.

Certificates and registration of credits

After participation, certificates relating to sessions that provide for the recognition of CFPs or refresher training hours are made available according to the procedures established by the organization and by the Professional Orders or Colleges.

For CFPs, the certificate is made available in the reserved area after validation by the Professional Orders; the credits, when recognized, are uploaded by the Orders to their respective platforms.

For refresher training hours under 818/84, participants may be required to submit the certificate to their Professional Order or College to allow the hours to be uploaded to the Fire Brigade platform, according to the established procedures.

The procedures and timeframes for issuance may be updated from year to year: for this reason, it is advisable to always refer to the information published for the current edition of the Safety Expo and to the instructions provided by your Professional Order or College.

Validity of refresher training and applicable regulations

Participation in a seminar or course allows participants to earn the credits or refresher training hours provided for that specific event, but the overall validity of the refresher training depends on the professional role and the applicable regulations.

For fire prevention professionals, refresher training obligations must be verified in relation to the regulations in force governing registration on the lists of the Ministry of the Interior. Similarly, for roles subject to Legislative Decree 81/08 and for professionals registered with Professional Orders and Colleges, the frequency and requirements of the training must be verified on the basis of the provisions and regulations in force.

Since the regulations concerning fire prevention and professional training may change over time, information relating to duration, frequency and recognition procedures must always refer to the current edition of the Safety Expo and to the regulations in force.
