Workshop on the correct maintenance of SPECIAL EXTINGUISHING SYSTEMS
The extinguishing systems include: Gas – Aerosols
Overview of maintenance regulations and a summary of the main operations and their periodicity.
Gaseous fire extinguishing systems
This workshop introduces the technical regulations for maintaining gaseous extinguishing agent systems (UNI EN 15004, UNI 11280 and EN 12094), including provisions for fluorinated gases as set out in Presidential Decree 146/2018.
Maintenance activities include inspections, identification of non-conformities, document control, routine and extraordinary maintenance, and the use of checklists and specialised equipment.
Practical demonstrations are provided of the visual and functional checks of the main components of gas systems, such as valves, actuators, automatic/manual control devices, nozzles, fittings and sensors.
Procedures for restoring, replacing, including verifying wiring and interconnections, as well as operational control of the control centre in accordance with the emergency plan, are also explained.
Condensed aerosol fire extinguishing system
The course covers the relevant regulations for condensed aerosol systems (UNI EN 15276-1/2) and pyrotechnic components (Directive 2013/29/EU and Legislative Decree 123/2015).
The phases of planned maintenance - inspection, surveillance, periodic checks, ordinary and extraordinary interventions, instrumental checks, and checklists - are explained, with a focus on record-keeping and compliance maintenance.
The session includes practical exercises on visually and functionally inspecting aerosol condensate generators, along with the use of specific instruments for restoring or replacing components, including verifying wiring and interconnections.
This involves testing the control centre, activating the system, and carrying out the programmed functions, including the auxiliary functions, in accordance with the emergency plan.
The session will last 2 hours, divided as follows:
11.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon: 1 hour Theory in Sala Laboratori 2 (workshop room 2), led by M.A.I.A. and UMAN
12.15 p.m. to 13.15 p.m.: 1 hour Practical Demonstration in the Area Dimostrazioni Laboratori Manutenzione (maintenance workshop demonstration area), 30 min for each topic, led by M.A.I.A. and UMAN
