Workshop on the correct maintenance of FIRE PREVENTION DEVICES
The devices include: Fire extinguishers - Hydrant networks - Fire doors


Overview of maintenance regulations and a summary of the main operations and their periodicity.

Portable and wheeled fire extinguishers
An introduction to current fire extinguisher maintenance provisions and technical standards (UNI 9994-1), including obligations for technicians and clients.
The key steps of planned maintenance (surveillance, periodic inspection and ordinary and extraordinary interventions) as well as component management, are explained.
The correct use of machinery and equipment for maintaining fire extinguishers is presented, along with references to troubleshooting and identifying faults during the initial inspection.
The main operational steps for maintaining portable and wheeled fire extinguishers are outlined.

Fire-resistant doors (fire doors)
An introduction to current fire door maintenance provisions and technical maintenance standards (UNI 11473), covering the obligations of technicians and clients.
The presentation includes practical demonstrations of routine maintenance work on various types of fire door, including troubleshooting and fault finding. There are also demonstrations of the installation and adjustment of components such as door closers, panic bars, locks and regulators.

Fire hydrant networks
An introduction to the main regulations and technical standards relating to the design, installation and maintenance of hydrant networks (UNI 10779, UNI EN 671-3 and UNI EN 12845).
The session will cover planned maintenance activities, the checks that need to be performed, the technical documentation required, and regulatory compliance.
Practical demonstrations will be given of checking, testing and maintenance of hydrant network components using special equipment.

The session will last 2 hours and will be divided as follows:
9:15–10:15 a.m.: 1-hour theory session in Sala Laboratori 1 (Workshop Room 1), led by UMAN and FISA.
10:15–11:15 a.m.: one hour of practical demonstration in the Area Dimostrazioni Laboratori Manutenzione (maintenance workshop demonstration area) - 20 minutes for each topic - led by M.A.I.A.
